Nedging and Naughton are small diffuse villages in a very rural setting. The villages support a pub and a garage that sells fuel and carries out repairs. There is a small industrial estate with businesses carrying out activities such as plant hire, warehousing and light industrial manufacturing. There are six working farms. Many of the villagers commute out of the village to work, some are self employed or work at home. A sizable proportion of the population is made up of retired people.
There are two churches within the villages and a village hall. Next to the village hall is a playing field and a children's play area. The village hall and playing field are run by a charity, The Nedging with Naughton Village Hall & Community Council, whose trustees are drawn from the other village institutions including the Parish Council..
There are many other groups that meet during the year for a variety of purposes, including the Spring Fair, The Women's Institute, the Produce Show, the Harvest Festival Supper, Charity Coffee Mornings, Indoor Curling, Quiz nights, Musical events, Wine tasting etc.
